Frequently Asked Questions
Overview:
Drift through the heart of the northern Driftless Region, where spring-fed rivers wind through rugged limestone bluffs, offering some of the best trout fishing in the Midwest. These 4- to 8-mile float trips provide the ultimate chance at large wild brown and native brook trout, with fish commonly ranging from 12 to 18 inches—and true trophies exceeding 20 inches.
Unlike wading smaller streams, floating allows access to remote, less-pressured waters where big trout thrive. The season begins January 1st for catch and release, with harvest starting in May and running through early October. Success here is about more than just the catch—it’s about reading the water, adapting to hatches, and experiencing the untouched beauty of these hidden valleys.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to the sport, each trip is tailored to your skill level and goals. From casting instruction to targeting trophy fish, we make every drift an unforgettable experience.
